About the venue

About this venue

Hafen Treptow sits on the southern bank of the River Spree in the Treptow district of Berlin, one of the city's most historically layered stretches of waterway. The harbour has long served as a departure point for leisure boats heading east along the Spree, and it retains a distinctly unhurried character compared to the busier tourist corridors of central Berlin. The surrounding area includes Treptower Park, home to the vast Soviet War Memorial, and the former exhibition grounds that once hosted the 1896 Berlin Trade Exhibition, giving the neighbourhood a depth that rewards exploration beyond the water itself.

From Hafen Treptow, visitors can currently join a three-hour Spree cruise travelling east to Müggelsee, Berlin's largest lake. The route passes through the quieter southeastern reaches of the city, where the river widens and the urban landscape gradually gives way to woodland and open water. Müggelsee has been a popular retreat for Berliners since the nineteenth century, and the cruise offers a relaxed way to experience this less-visited side of the German capital.
