About the venue

About this venue

The St Nicholas Bell Tower stands in the Old Town Square in Prague, separate from the more famous St Nicholas Church across the river in Malá Strana. The tower is all that remains of a Gothic church dedicated to St Nicholas that once occupied this corner of the square, demolished in the early nineteenth century. What survived was incorporated into the surrounding buildings and eventually opened to the public as a viewing point, offering a direct outlook over the rooftops and spires of the Old Town.

Climbing the tower gives visitors an elevated perspective on one of Europe's most architecturally layered city squares, with views stretching toward the Astronomical Clock, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, and the tiled rooflines of the medieval quarter below. Entry tickets are available for those who want to experience the square from above rather than simply passing through it at street level.
